Growing up in Indianapolis, IN, I spent most of my summers on a 7 acre lake where my father was a lifeguard. My love for being on the water naturally flowed from there. It wasn't until my college days that I finally had the opportunity to go out on a boat and learn to ski. The joy and time spent with friends on the lake was an experience that has stayed with me to this day. After graduating from Ball State, I moved to Knoxville, bought my first boat and worked at Whittle Communications. In that order.
When Pepper and I met we shared our boating pleasures with many friends and family. Our greatest pleasure was seeing our friends eyes light up and the smiles and laughter that being on the water generated.
When after 18 enjoyable years in the publishing business the good Lord closed that door, He blessed us with the open door of taking over LakeFlite, currently Sea Ray of Knoxville. Pepper and I have been given the opportunity over the last 20 years to meet more new friends & enhance their lifestyle by helping them create their own memories through boating. Growing up in West Knoxville, I spent my summers on the numerous area lakes that naturally led me to a love of boating. Being in sales for more than half my life, in different industries, I never considered selling boats as a way to make a living. Boats were my escape from the daily grind. It finally hit me that I could possibly go to work, love my job and have fun all in the same day! That is when I contacted Mike & Pepper Marcum at Sea Ray of Knoxville because they have always promoted a family and fun atmosphere in the community and it just so happened they were looking for a sales person. That was 13 years ago and I have never looked back. Family and fun, what else could you ask for?
